Institute for Basic Science Young Scientist Fellowship for Study in Korea: The Institute for Basic Science (IBS) is pleased to announce the IBS Young Scientist Fellowship 2026 for study in Korea for young researchers to mature into leading researchers in basic science.

The fellowship affords junior scientists the opportunities to conduct independent research by utilizing state-of-the-art infrastructure and to grow on the basis of research collaborations with leading researchers.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

To be eligible for the Institute for Basic Science Young Scientist Fellowship 2026, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Must have obtained a relevant Ph.D not more than seven years and must be under the age of 40 years.
  • Must demonstrate excellent research abilities.
  • Applicants who are still in their doctoral studies must be conferred with a Ph.D degree no later than 31st August 2026.

Fellowship Benefits

  • Annual fund of KRW 150 – 300 mil. per year including salary of KRW 60-70 mil.
  • Access to research facilities and equipment at their Centers.

How to Apply for IBS Young Scientist Fellowship 2026.

Interested applicants for the Institute for Basic Science Young Scientist Fellowship 2026 are to submit a Letter of intent (approximately three pages) acceptance and evaluation.
