Nigerians who have graduated from Universities and Mono/Polytechnics in Nigeria and abroad ready to enroll for the NYSC Scheme for either Batch A or Batch B or C should note the following Requirements for NYSC Registration/Mobilization of Graduates

NYSC Registration Requirements 2024 & Mobilization Of Graduates.

In order to ensure a seamless registration, prospective corps members are to note the following for strict compliance:

The Website address is any of the following:

1. Prospective Corps members should ensure that they have functional e-mail addresses that they can access and Nigerian (GSM) telephone numbers with which to register. They will use the Email address and password to login to the NYSC portal subsequently and so are advised to keep it safe

2. Locally trained prospective Corps members are expected to use correct Matriculation numbers to register

3. For locally-trained graduates, only those whose names appear in the Senate/Academic Board Approved Result lists submitted by their Institutions will have access to the register on the NYSC portal.

4. Foreign-trained prospective corps members/those who acquired on-line qualifications should ensure that their Institutions are accredited. They should approach Federal Ministry of Education for evaluation. The letter of evaluation must be uploaded during registration.

5. Those who graduated from Institutions outside Nigeria, (Foreign-trained graduates) or obtained on-line foreign certifications, are to visit the NYSC portal, register and upload the following documents:

    • West African School Certificate(WASC) (with not less than 5 Credits at 2 sittings) or its equivalent; or General Certificate of Education (GCE O’ Level) (with not less than 5 Credits at 2 sittings) or its equivalent; or NECO (with not less than 5 Credits at 2 sittings) or its equivalent; or High School Diploma or its equivalent.
    • First Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) Certificate (Second Degree or Ph.D not necessary).
    • Complete Official Transcript of the first Degree or HND.
    • International travelling Passport showing personal data page and date of departure.
    • ATTESTATION LETTERS OR TESTIMONIALS are not acceptable in lieu of original Degree/HND Certificates.
    • All working class Graduates and graduates of on-line foreign qualifications are required to upload their original ADMISSION LETTERS and LETTER OF APPROVAL from their respective employers to undertake their courses, as the case may be.
    • All graduates of Medicine and other health related courses such as Nursing Science, Laboratory Science, Physiotherapy, Pharmacy etc MUST posses and upload current-professional license. Expired license is not acceptable for mobilization.

6. It is the responsibility of the prospective corps members who studied in non-English speaking countries to get their Certificates and Transcripts translated into English language before uploading. Such translation must be done in the accredited Institutions or Embassies.

7. All graduates of Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Physiotherapy, Radiology, Optometry, Medical Laboratory Science and Pharmacy are expected to have their Certificates of Registration with their professional bodies. Payment receipts are not acceptable.

8. Unlike in the past, Foreign-trained graduates should NOT visit NYSC Headquarters, Abuja for verification of their documents. This exercise will now be done at the Orientation Camps. They should simply print their call-up letters on-line and report at the Orientation camps in their States of deployment, but should come to the camp with the original documents they uploaded for verification.

9. Anybody who presents any fake document will be demobilized and decamped and handed over to law enforcement agencies for prosecution.

10. Prospective corps members should ensure that Passport photographs used meet the following specifications:

    • Ensure your face (eyes, nose, ears, mouth and jaw) is fully shown without bending
    • Ensure the picture fills the frame and centralized
    • Ensure the Photo background is white or off-white with no shadow.

11. On no account should prospective corps members register by PROXY. They should also remember the fingers used for their biometric capturing as these will be used for verification at the orientation camps. Those who cannot be verified with their biometric at the orientation camp will not be registered.

12. Only prospective corps members who want their call-up numbers sent to them through SMS and wish to PRINT their call-up letters on-line are expected to pay N2,786.24 (see NYSC Portal on how to make payment).

13. Prospective Corps members who do not want to pay the N2,786.24 have the option of going to their schools to collect their call-up numbers and call-up letters.

13. All prospective corps members who paid for the online registration before but were not mobilized need not pay again.

14. Married female prospective corps members (whether locally or foreign-trained) should upload copies of their marriage Certificates, evidence of Change of name and their husbands’ place of domicile during registration.

15. The orientation camp is highly not ideal for pregnant and nursing mothers. Prospective corps members in this categoriy are therefore to note that they will not be accommodated.

17. All Part-time graduates are expected to register online and wait for collection of their Letter of Exclusion at their various Institutions. For those willing to print the Letter of Exclusion online, this can be done on payment of N2,786.24 only.

19. Foreign-Trained graduates are to use Nigerian Phone numbers during the online registration.

NYSC Requirements For Registration Of Nigerian Foreign-Trained Graduates.

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION

The Originals and photocopies of the following documents are required for registration and mobilization of foreign-trained graduates into the National Youth Service Corps (please note that downloaded Certificates/Transcripts, Statement of result and Attestation letters are not acceptable); viz:

  • First university degree or HND certificate
  • Complete official transcription of the First Degree or HND course
  • Mark sheet (for Indian universities only)
  • O’level certificate i.e WASC, GCE, SSCE, NECO, IGCE ,GCSE, high school diploma for those schooled in USA e.t.c. Note That Online result Print-out is not acceptable in place of the original certificate
  • Candidates must obtain credit in not less than five(5) subjects (including English and mathematics) in not less than two(2) sittings
  • Please note that persons who did a ‘Top up’ programme/Course are required to upload their foundation Certificate e.g APTECH, OND, NIIT, INFORMATICTS etc
  • Medical doctors and optometrists are required to produce in addition, evidence of completion of housemanship, registration certificate with the medical and dental council of Nigeria/Optometrists Association of Nigeria as applicable
  • Pharmacists shall produce in addition, evidence of completion of internship and registration certificate with Pharmacists council of Nigeria
  • Nurses are to present original License and Certificate of registration with the Nursing/Midwifery council of Nigeria
  • Medical Laboratory Scientists are also to present their License and certificate of registration with Medical laboratory scientists Council of Nigeria

TRAVEL DOCUMENT: NIGERIAN INTERNATIONAL PASSPORT SHOWING CLEARLY:

  • Entry visa to the country of study
  • First Departure Date from Nigeria
  • Date of return to Nigeria after the period of study
  • Date page of the passport

Graduates with dual nationality are required to Up-load Data pages of both International Passports and present the Passport for verification at the Camp (where more than one international Passports were used during the period of study, candidates should upload Data Pages of the International Passports

Residence Permit (for Graduates from Institutions located within West African Countries Only)

LOSS OF INTERNATIONAL PASSPORT

In the event of loss of international passport, a prospective Corps Member is expected to obtain the following:

  • Police and Immigration reports from the country where the Passport got missing
  • Sworn affidavit
  • Evidence of stay in country of study and a New International Passport
  • Personal Data page of the newly obtained International Passport must be uploaded

LOSS OF ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS

For loss of academic credentials, the following are required:

  • Police Report
  • Sworn Affidavit
  • Confirmation of result from either the examination body (for loss of O’level certificates) or the institution of graduation (for loss of degree, HND, certificates as the case may be)

Certificates not written in English Language must be translated at the Embassy of the country of study or a University in Nigeria where the language is studied, before presentation to the NYSC.

Special Note:

  • Holders of Diploma of Higher Education and Higher Certificate of Education are not qualified for mobilization. Therefore, they need not register
  • Attestation Letter, Letter of completion of course To Whom It May Concern letter or any related document is not acceptable in lieu of Degree or HND Certificate, Please
  • Statements of Results are also not acceptable in lieu of any certificate
  • Please note that NYSC Management reserves the right to refer to Federal Ministry of Education for Verification, any institution or document which status is questionable
  • Married women would be deployed to the State where their husbands are domiciled, provided their marriage certificates, Husband’s Identification, e.g. Drivers License, International Passport, National ID Card and evidences of change of name are Uploaded/Presented
  • Physical verification of all credentials uploaded by foreign Graduates will take place at the Orientation Camp
  • Foreign Trained Corps Members should not send their credentials home after preliminary registration in the Camp until the credentials are physically verified by duly assigned officer(s) from National Youth Service Corps, National Directorate Headquarters Abuja. Foreign trained Corps Members should also remain in the camp until their credentials are physically verified
  • Any Foreign trained Corps Member who is relocated must show evidence of physical verification of his/her credentials before he/she is registered in the state of relocation
  • Oxford Brookes, Professional Certificates, Correspondence Courses and Certificates through online courses are not acceptable
  • Scanned, online print out or photocopies of Credentials are not acceptable
  • Foreign graduates who are Exempted from Service must present all academic credentials and International Passport uploaded for physical verification at the Evaluation Division, Corps Mobilization Department, National youth Service Corps, National Directorate Headquarters, Abuja before Exemption Certificate is issued
  • Foreign graduates who are excluded from Service must also present all academic credentials and International Passport uploaded for physical verification at the Evaluation Division, Corps Mobilization Department, National Youth Service Corps, National Directorate Headquarters, Abuja before Exclusion Letter is printed online
