Job Summary

  • Lead the planning, delivery and management of EMTS Information Security program and ensure adequate protection of its information and technology related assets.

Principal Functions
Tactical:

  • Develop, manage and implement a comprehensive information security program for EMTS.
  • Lead the development of security architecture, policies and standards and ensure compliance across the organization Operational
  • Develop and maintain an up-to-date IT security posture for EMTS. Ensure IT gets a satisfactory / acceptable risk rating from independent assessments
  • Conduct periodic review of the IT Security management framework and ensure it is updated in line with industry trends and regulatory requirements.
  • Work with EMTS business units and other risk management/assurance functions (Internal Audit & Revenue Assurance) to identify security requirements, using Risk Assessments, business impact, penetration tests and vulnerability assessment tests. Implement strategies and plans to achieve security requirements and address identified risks
  • Conduct security control and vulnerability assessments to identify weaknesses and assess the effectiveness of existing controls and recommends remedial action
  • Prepare reports for management attention on residual risk, vulnerabilities and other security exposures, including misuse of information assets and noncompliance.
  • Plays an advisory role in application development or acquisition projects, to assess information security requirements and ensure that security controls are implemented as planned throughout the project life cycle
  • Participates in IT security investigations and compliance reviews as requested by internal or external auditors
  • Conduct research, assess new threats and security alerts and recommend appropriate actions to mitigate them
  • Raise the security awareness and education level of EMTS employees (through interpost, regular training and onboarding for new hires) and IT vendor
  • Lead the selection of information security solutions partners to manage and deliver IT Security projects.
  • Interface with others teams within and outside IT department in the process of delivering security solutions.
  • Liaise with vendors, suppliers and partners to ensure effective optimization, adoption and delivery of solutions.
  • Carry out other activities as instructed by the Head, Information Risk Management.

Educational Requirements

  • First Degree or equivalent in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or other numerate science.
  • Six (6) to Eight (8) years relevant work experience, with at least Three (3) years in enterprise information security implementation and three (3) years in a supervisory role.
  • Possession of relevant IT and telecommunication certification including CISA, CISSP, CISM, CEH, ISO27000 etc.
  • Broad experience across the IT architecture stack
  • Good understanding of telecommunication business and technology model.
  • Good understanding of business analysis and project management methods.
  • Very good conceptual and analytical thinking skills
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills

Job Summary

  • Serves as a key point of legal advice on EMTS’ litigation issues to ensure protection of EMTS’ interest.

Principal Functions
Tactical:

  • Advice EMTS on local and international legal matters including civil, criminal, contractual, telecom regulatory and labour laws that may affect EMTS activities or employees.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation/regulations and give adequate legal advice in order to reduce EMTS risk liability.
  • Advice EMTS on legal matters relating to property and site acquisitions.
  • Oversee the preparation of all leases, licenses and site related documents.
  • Demonstrate ownership of the all matters and advice EMTS on any legal peculiarities.
  • Evaluate the impact of new laws regulations and legislations that may affect EMTS or its’ employees and activities and make recommendations to the Head, Legal Operations & Litigation.
  • Keep abreast of global and local best practices as it relates to the department’s activities.
  • Continuously assist in reviewing the departments/teams activities and make recommendations for improvement and implement approved initiatives to ensure enhanced performance of the team.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders

Operational:

  • Ensure effective case management strategy and adequate representation in litigation matters involving EMTS.
  • Monitor Litigation (including any alternative dispute resolution mechanisms) by and against EMTS and manage EMTS’ legal exposure in matters. Where external counsel is required, assist the Head, Legal Operations and Litigation in acting as a liaison for external counsel’s contact
  • Oversee searches and due diligence on title verification, CAC searches, corporate searches/enquiries etc.
  • Give qualitative legal advice on title verification/due diligence and ensure proper documentation for property and site related acquisitions.
  • Ensure proper documentation and compliance with lease terms in approving renewals.
  • Draft Deeds, Lease Agreements, Addendums and other property and site related documents as may be required.
  • Ensure maintenance of database and adequate filing of all EMTS litigation matter, disputes and properties and other related legal documentation.
  • Ensure safe custody of all litigation and property related files and documents.
  • Assist in implementing the units work programs and plans in line with agreed upon procedures and guidelines.
  • Assist in planning and managing the human and material resources of the department/team to optimize performance, morale and enhance productivity.
  • Manage inter-functional relations to ensure synergy across the various departmental functions
  • Provide leadership and guidance to team members and manage subordinate performance towards the achievement of overall team objectives
  • Prepare /compile agreed periodic activities and performance reports for the attention of the Head, Legal Operations, Litigation, Commercial & Corporate (Contracts & Advisory)
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by Senior Manager/Head of litigation.

Educational Requirements

  • First degree in Law.

Job Title: Specialist, Government & Community Affairs

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers

Job Summary

  • Coordinate the development, establishment and maintenance of cordial relationships with all stakeholders i.e. government agencies and host communities within the Region 1 and leverage on all existing relationships to achieve the company’s objectives.

Principal Functions

  • Monitor and analyse political, economic and policy trends and activities in Region 1, working with all internal stakeholders to mitigate potential threats to EMTS operations.
  • Maintain relationships with host communities after sites are integrated. Identify initiatives or programs to develop the communities and ensure proper implementation in assigned Region.
  • Collate data, prepare periodic reports and conduct research on policies, laws, regulations and data relevant to EMTS.
  • Track, monitor and analyse state legislative bills, local government bye laws, public policies and directives from Ministries, Department and Agencies (MDAs) in Region 1 and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to drive strategic initiatives to protect EMTS policy interests
  • Manage senior government officials in Region 1 to ensure their participation in all EMTS events
  • Engage the relevant MDAs in the Region to prevent multiple taxation, acquire permits/approvals and minimize adverse actions by such bodies which may disrupt operations of any EMTS outlet
  • Liaise with Finance to ensure timely payment of all government statutory fees.
  • Maintain cordial relationships with all stakeholders in host communities within which EMTS operates or/and has outlets and leverage on relationships to achieve the company’s objectives.
  • Participate in the evaluation of prospective cities, towns and communities identified for outlets and make recommendations in line with best practice and the company’s interest
  • Identify all issues (Government or Community) and work within company procedures and guidelines to resolve them within agreed timelines.
  • Ensure all stakeholders Radio, Transmission, Site Acquisition, Rollout, Legal and Finance teams are aware of all government or community related issues and follow through with them to ensure resolution
  • Initiate and carry out dialogues, meetings, negotiations where necessary on behalf of the organization to resolve issues relating to roll-out and post roll out operations in host communities
  • Provide input in the development/modification (where necessary) of company procedure and guidelines regarding government and/or community relations
