NYSC POP: Corps Members to Collect Certificates at LGAs: The National Youth Service Corps has directed qualified Batch “B” Stream 1 corps members passing out on Thursday to collect their National Service certificates at the Local Government level.

According to the scheme, NYSC Officers have been mobilized for the distribution and shall do so from ten service points in each of the Local Government Councils.

It explained that as a precautionary measure, the distribution shall be staggered for a period of ten days in the first instance, in order to remove anxiety from the concerned corps members.

The NYSC noted that the event slated for May 28 would not be marked with ceremonial parades due to the coronavirus pandemic.

In a statement on Monday by its Director, Press and Public Relations, Mrs. Adenike Adeyemi, the NYSC urged the passing out members to observe strict discipline, orderliness, social distancing, use of facemask, hand sanitizer and proper washing of hands during the event.

A full complement of NYSC Officers have been mobilized for the distribution and shall do so from ten service points in each of the Local Government Councils.

As a precautionary measure, the distribution shall be staggered for a period of ten days in the first instance, in order to remove anxiety from the concerned corps members, in addition to making the activity seamless and less cumbersome,” the statement said.

The statement advised members, who at present are not in their states of service, to wait till the ban on inter-state journeys was lifted before traveling to collect their certificates.

The Federal Government had in March ordered all corpers in the country to return home as part of measures to curb the spread of the virus.

It is imperative to state that corps members who at present are not in their states of service need not violate the ban on inter-state journeys which is still in force.

However, as soon as the ban is lifted and it is safe to travel, they are expected to go to their respective States of service to collect their CNS.

Kindly note that unclaimed certificates shall be returned to the NYSC National Directorate Headquarters, Abuja two weeks after the lifting of the inter-state travel ban.

Please, always stay in touch with our social media platforms, as well as the mainstream media for further information,” the statement added.
