NECO said in a statement issued by its Head of Information and Public Relations Division, Azeez Sani, that it was aware of all religious festivals and would not schedule any tests on such days.

“The National Examinations Council (NECO) wishes to state that no examinations have been scheduled for Saturday, July 9th, 2024.”

“This is in contrast to some reports that the council has scheduled the examination for July 9, 2024, which is Sallah Day” (Eid- Adha).

“Because religious festivals are important, the council has always made adequate provision for them when setting examination dates.”

“The council has granted a whole examination-free week in the ongoing Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) for school-based candidates, beginning Friday, 8th July to Wednesday, 13th July 2024, to allow Muslim faithful enough time to celebrate the festival.”
