OAU B.Sc. Programme in e-Agricultural Extension and Community Engineering Overview
The ODL B.Sc. programme in e-Agricultural Extension and Community Engineering, run by the Obafemi Awolowo University, Faculty of Agriculture and Centre for Distance Learning in collaboration with the NIPPON Foundation aims to enhance agricultural extension career prospects and improve the capacity for agricultural extension service delivery, thereby contributing to bridging the gap between research outcomes and agricultural practices for sustainable food security as well as community and national development.
OAU B.Sc. Programme in e-Agricultural Extension and Community Engineering Target Candidates
The programme is targeted at training mid-career extension workers and other interested graduates with NCE, ND/HND/Bachelor’s degree in science fields from recognised institutions of learning in Nigeria to become an extension and community engineering, scientists.
OAU B.Sc. Programme in e-Agricultural Extension and Community Engineering Course Duration / Admission Requirements
Three categories of prospective students are targeted:
- Science-based ND and NCE Holders without Agricultural academic background (4 years) or Science-based ND and NCE Holders with Agricultural academic background (3years). The candidates must satisfy the following requirements:
- be a serving agricultural extension worker or agriculture-related/community development worker/self-employed with a minimum of 2 years post qualification (ND/NCE) experience;
- be recommended and sponsored by the employer; if self-employed – you should be recommended by one of your post-secondary education teachers;
- possess ND/NCE in agriculture or related field from any recognised institution; and
- satisfy the University’s minimum admission requirement of at least credit passes in 5 relevant subjects including English Language and Mathematics in the West African School Certificate Examination or its equivalent.
- Science-based HND Holders without agricultural academic background (4 years) or Science-based HND Holders with Agricultural academic background (3 years). The candidate must satisfy the following requirements:
- be a serving agricultural extension worker or agriculture-related/community development worker/self-employed with a minimum of 2 years post qualification (HND) experience
- be recommended and sponsored by the employer; if self-employed – you should be recommended by one of your post-secondary education teachers;
- possess HND in agriculture or related field from any recognised institution; and
- satisfy the University’s minimum admission requirement of at least credit passes in 5 relevant subjects in one or two sittings including English Language and Mathematics in the West African School Certificate Examination or its equivalent.
- Transfer Students from Science-based First-degree Programmes from a recognised University(4 years). The candidate must satisfy the following requirements:
- satisfy the University’s minimum admission requirement of at least credit passes in 5 relevant subjects including English Language and Mathematics in the West African School Certificate Examination or its equivalent; and
- have a minimum of 1.00 Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA).

How to Apply for OAU B.Sc. Programme in e-Agricultural Extension and Community Engineering Admission Form
- Go to OAUCDL website: (www.oaucdl.edu.ng) and Click on: “B.Sc. degree in e-Agricultural Extension and Community Engineering Programme” and read the Instruction carefully. Create your account by clicking on “Apply Now!”. You are to supply valid username, password, email address and other required information.
- Login into the portal with your Username and Password
- Pay the Application fee of N5,000 with your ATM debit card through Interswitch Webpay payment platform.
- Fill your form by supplying all the required information and upload your recent passport photograph (should not be earlier than 3 Months).
- Click on “Update” to submit your form.

- The forms must be filled and submitted online either immediately or within 3 weeks of accessing the website.
- Valid email address, scanned/digital passport photograph (50kb Max) must be uploaded to complete the online application.
