JAMB Suspends Biometric Thumbprint & Verification After UTME: The Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) Biometric Thumbprint / Verification done after Each Candidates Examination has been halted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), as the information provided to MEDIANGR.

This is to advise all candidates who will be sitting for the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) that they are free to return home as soon as their examination is over without having to go through another biometric verification or thumbprint.

Candidates will no longer have to wait for another round of biometric verification following the exam to be signed out.

NB: According to the Board, candidate verification prior to the start of the examination is still in effect.

The purpose of the board’s implementation of biometrics is to eliminate all forms of malpractice in the administration of the UTME Examination.

Candidates who have problems with their biometrics will not be able to take the exam on that day; the board will inform affected candidates of the next steps to take.
