2022 Common Entrance Exam Result Statistics

2022 Common Entrance Exam Result Statistics: The Federal Government announced the results of the 2022 National Common Entrance Examination for Unity Schools on Monday.

The government stated that all admissions to Junior Secondary School (JSS 1) classes in colleges would be completed on or before July 1.

Lagos State had the most students registered for the exam, with 19,518 students.

The Federal Capital Territory came in second with 8,623 students, and Anambra came in third with 5,335 students.

Education Minister Adamu Adamu made the announcement at a press conference in Abuja yesterday after receiving the results from the Registrar of the National Examinations Council, Prof. Ibrahim Wushishi.

Adamu, who was represented by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, David Adejo Andrew, said Ajidagba Akanke, a Sokoto State indigene, had the highest score of 201, while Obot Abundance Idara, an Akwa Ibom State indigene, came second with 200 marks.

“This year’s edition was written on Saturday, May 7, 2022, in Nigeria, as well as Benin Republic and Togo,” he said.

“The following are the major highlights of the 2022 NCEE that I would like to bring to our attention:

“A total of 71,738 students registered, with 34,030 males and 37,708 females.”

“The exams were taken by 96% of the students (68,638).” 4% (3,100) were not present.

“The state with the most candidates registered is Lagos State, with 19,518, of which 18,787 sat and 731 were absent.”

The FCT came in second with 8,623 registered candidates, of which 8,317 sat and 306 were absent.

“Anambra State finished third with 5,335 registered candidates, of which 5,070 sat and 265 were absent.” Zamfara State came in fourth place with 4,500 candidates registered, of which 3,745 sat and 755 did not.

“The candidate who received the highest marks is Ajidagba Akanke, a Sokoto State native with registration number 542121DG.” Her school was Oshodi Junior Secondary School, Tolu Complex, Apapa, Lagos, and she received a 201.

“Obot Idara, an Akwa Ibom State native with registration number 550470BF, came in second.” Her centre was State College Ete’s Ikot Ekpene Centre, and she received a score of 200.

“The lowest score was 01, which was achieved by 15 candidates from various states.” Kebbi State, with 74 candidates, has the lowest number of registered candidates.”

While urging parents/guardians to visit the NECO website: www.neco.gov.ng for details on their children’s results, Adamu stated that the admission criteria for qualified candidates into colleges are: 60% merit; 30% Equality of State; and 10% Exigency.

Wushishi was pleased with how smoothly NECO conducted the examination.

He noted that students’ performance in this year’s examination showed a relative improvement.
